In Home Newborn Family Session

This was one of the first photoshoots I did coming back to work after having my daughter. Fueled by hormones and a lack of sleep, I tried to let that deep vulnerability inspire creativity, to create from a place of true love and connection. I stopped trying to control the outcome of the photos and just feel. I tried my best to let go of fear and create from the heart, letting all that immense joy and profound wonder in. It was so beautiful to be in tune with another freshly postpartum mom. I’ve always had a passion for capturing people’s families, but having my own made me realize just how important it is to document these memories. Especially since newborn babies are so small for only a short amount of time! It really does fly by so quickly!

Christina & Steve have been long time friends that I’ve had the honor of photographing their wedding, their first child’s newborn photos, and now their second. I didn’t really pose them too much and told them to be themselves and have fun with their kids. Light guidance and allowing the moment to unfold was my approach to stay intuitive, authentic, and really soak in the vibes. Christina mentioned how easy and relaxing the shoot was, even with a toddler running around past his nap time, so that is saying something!! I hope they treasure these photos forever & can look back on this time and remember exactly how it felt.

Newborn family sessions will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart. There is quite nothing like it.
