A Very Special Newborn Session

The anticipation for this newborn shoot was through the roof. Maybe it was due to how close I am to the new parents (they’re my brother and sister-in-laws), but maybe it was also because we weren’t sure when they would be coming home exactly.

Brian and Anne are the sweetest, most considerate people you will ever meet. They fill a room with love and positive energy and are welcoming ALWAYS. For many many years they have been wanting to start their own family. After years of trials, IVF, and tons of paperwork, an amazing opportunity arrived and they were matched with an expecting woman in Florida. Throughout the months of keeping in touch, facetiming on holidays, and updating the birth mother on their preparations for their baby, they finally flew out to meet her and welcome the birth of their child.

After a week Oli arrived! They had to keep him a little longer in the hospital but then they were able to take him back to the hotel to take care of him until the rest of the paperwork came in so that they could fly back home (which took longer than expected).

This was not an easy process but they never lost hope and went through all the same things all parents go through while expecting, and more. It really showed how adoption allows children to have amazing parents who will always love them and be there for them.

It was the perfect match. And it was all worth it because now all of our hearts (grandparents, aunts, uncles, and most importantly, the DOGS) have grown due to a brave woman’s choice to give him a loving family who could provide for him, and two courageous people who wanted nothing more than a human to love, keep safe, and teach to be as kind as they are. I am beyond honored to have documented this important stage in their lives.
